Should I like ALL "Gay (Homosexual)" Movies?

Last night my boyfriend and I were watching Brokeback Mountain. I have an odd taste for movies and shows, so I decided to leave. He looked at me and said, "I thought you liked this," as he nodded towards the T.V. I remarked that I don't like every gay movie, especially the ones that paint homosexual relationships has a taboo.

My boyfriend actually said that this movie is a great movie for the gay community, (word for word). I sighed, and said, "Check the Sundance Channel." But not only that, but there are so many different LGBT (minus the Q for a reason) movies out there, you just have to look!

Just because I am bisexual doesn't mean that I am going to like every homoerotic movie. I wish I could see a movie that normalizes a LGBT relationship instead of keeping it a taboo. Having a gay relationship has the main theme of a movie makes me a little frustrated. Yes, I know it's seen as something bad to outsiders I got that part. Yes, I know its hard being gay, believe me, been there done that.

Can't the silver screen grow into something different here? Maybe a gay super couple duo that saves the world or a lesbian graduate and her girlfriend go to college together and eventually build a family when they get older? Why can't we have a cool movie about the awesomeness of being LBGTQ?

There is a need to show straight people just how hard it is. But lets face it most gays already know that it is hard. We don't need another movie making us feel bad about our sexual preference.
