Here it is again another Wiccan practice only to be changed by this wondering witch! I can't help but associate the moon with the Mother Goddess archetype, it is very hard not to. The way that I see it is that women or the Goddess shouldn't be just powerful at certain times of their lives or only valuable because of their sex. I also disagree with the heterosexual relationship between the Wiccan God and Goddess.
I see the moon as a point of power instead of the end all symbol of motherhood or the Mother Goddess. It's the same with the waxing and the waning moons.
So what am I going to do in the light of the moon? Only what a feminist witch would do. Well, not to say that all of us are alike. But I think I would want to do some kind of cleansing and purifying. Maybe something that would make me feel better about myself. One of the many Feri sayings is: "Remember you are a God!" Meaning that we are Goddess' children and therefore we all have Her spark. We have that power to change.
So I honor that and the power without every full moon and every Holy Day, too. While sitting under the cleansing brilliance of the moon, may I honor my self and my power and the Goddess's.
