Topless in Maine!
I had no idea that it was possible for women to be topless in Maine. Not until I had heard about the march that was held on April 12th.
Sarah T. Moon, a Women and Gender Studies major at USM writes in the USM Free Press all about it. Her particular experience is ghastly. From an old woman telling Sarah that she wouldn’t be the kind of girl that this Grandma would want her grandson to date to a guy yelling at her while she was in her car.
Personally I am all for it. Women should be able to show their bodies. Why the hell not? Women’s bodies shouldn’t be seen as a sexual object (as Sarah had mentioned in her USM Free Press report). The Platinum Plus in Maine has taken the right to be top free to the same old level; using woman’s bodies as a sexual object and a way to sell merchandise. They have Topless Fridays women who worked there sell the donuts. Through the public display those brave women dashed that stigma. They claimed their bodies as their own.
I can't even put pictures from the event because they would be considered pornography but if I publish pictures of men topless and all will be well.

Today Gay and Lesbian Education Network commenced that today is the day that we honor, remember and help the bullied and harassed LGBT students. What are you going to do today to help?

Every woman should have the right to choose!!
I was reading an interesting article on my favorite site Feministing.com about Pro-Choice movement and the ignorance of young women. It just inspired me to write a blog for choice. I also wanted to reintroduce Connie Saltsonstall for congress. Here is her Twitter.com.
It’s the least I can do (blogging). I feel useless any other way. I just tweeted the “The pro-choice movement will fall without young women.”
Let’s hope I could do more in the future!

I just learned that the Maine LGBT Equality March has been indefinitely postponed because of the lack of involvement. Here is a message from Samantha Equality White:
The Maine LGBT Civil Rights March has been postponed indefinitely. After reflection on the input received from Mainers who participated in our open conference calls and individuals and organizations who provided feedback along the way, the decision has been made not to proceed at this time. We garnered significant support from inside Maine and across the country and were successful at handling logistical tasks; however, we were unable to generate enough participation from grassroots organizers on the ground within Maine itself to give it a life of its own. We will gladly share the logistical planning and the lessons we have learned with grassroots supporters who wish to continue efforts to organize a Civil Rights March in Maine.
We on the coordinating committee are proud of our efforts. We know there is a lot of work ahead in the struggle to achieve equality and it is important work. We will attain full equality for LGBT people and families only through the dedication and hard work of people like you. We thank all of you who supported us. Those of us who have lived in Maine our whole lives will continue to work within our state to battle for full LGBT equality; those of us from the rest of the country will continue to support our allies in Maine as we all battle for full equality throughout our nation.
Lets not let this happen again!!!

Bisexual Then, Now Queer!
I now like to reclaim the word queer. I think it’s the right label for me. Bisexual seems so outdated and formal. There is no edge to it or wow factor! I am more attracted to women and I am often never attracted to men. Yet, I have a long term relationship with a guy. We are going on for two years in the summer!!!

Today is Equal Pay Day!What are doing today? Also Obama states that today he was committed to get equal pay for women and making progress!!!
What's Equal Pay Day?

Remember April 22 is Earth Day!!! What are going to do?

There is yet another belief rolling around in Feminist Witchcraft that men can’t or shouldn’t practice the Craft. I think that’s just ridiculous. That’s like saying that men can’t be feminists. I want to throw away this myth or belief away forever. To me this belief among Feminist Witches and Pagans is similar to the act of fucking for virginity. It just doesn’t make any sense. If you’re fighting for equal rights and sexism you shouldn’t respond with more sexism. That’s all I am saying and it’s not that difficult to do or understand. I wonder why so many feminists shy away from Witchcraft or at least to the sexist branch: the feminist kind no less.

There is going to be a National Equality March on Harvey Milk's birthday May 22, 2010. This is the International Day Against Homophobia.
Take action here.

I when I began editing my posts on my Microsoft Word window I found something utterly profound.
You could capitalize the word “him” or “he” and get away without that annoying green underline but you cannot with the word “her “or “she”.
Just thought I might put that out there.

Stupak is retiring!Lets move in while we can and vote for Connie!!!!
Here is her link (again)

Here is On The Issues Magazine look in Feminist Witchcraft. Here is the link. I thought her thorough work and amazing writing paid off. I definitely recommend it to any beginning Feminist Witch.

Reapplying:I have been reapplying to USM (University of Southern Maine). I really like it here because its' pro-green, pro-democrat, pro-woman/feminist, pro-LGBT, etc. Why not reapply? I applied about a year ago because I wanted to go to school. I decided against it because the only person who could take me was my boyfriend. I wasn't sure at the time that another thing should rely on our relationship. I can't drive. So the only peeps that can take me to the city are the ones I live with. So if I had to go to a temp job in Portland I would have to rely on them taking me. If I suddenly break up with my partner of two years than goodbye job and school. I am in a fucked up situation, but whatever.
I realized that I am always going to be blocking myself from taking this step. I might as well just do it. Life can't be perfect (I was waiting until the perfect time) and I just got to go for it never minds what place I am in or whatever.
Great Goddess please help me through this!
