Yeah, I am surprised that I haven't talked about the Goddess, too. I suppose I should talk about my personal view since there are so many others. My own view is that She is all. She is the universe and She is the world within worlds on Earth. When I started practicing Witchcraft I had my first religious experiences. I could read the clouds and see Her face within them.
Her presence has become more of a metaphor of the Earth and the universe. I have broken up the Goddess into two(only to become one again). I believe in Uni who is the Star Goddess and Gaia the Earth Goddess. Then I realized that I should perform a marriage between the two and then created UniGaia.
May Eve is coming up so I am going to start planning a lesbian Goddess marriage.
See, I take a lot from Wicca including its Sabbats and I put my own personal spin on them! I’m thinking about taking this holiday to whole new level. In Wicca, Beltaine is the marriage of the God and Goddess. He is both her son and lover. In the name of same-sex marriage I would like to do a ritual honoring the Goddess falling in love with the Goddess. I do not accept a God and Goddess. Sometimes it’s a God and God or a Goddess and Goddess, and somewhere in between. I know that nature can be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered/transsexual why not Divinity?
It's really different I know. Religion and spirituality are subjective after all and it suits me to have two deities become one under one name. It’s my spin on divinity. I took it from T.Thorn Coyle via the Feri tradition. The belief of the Star Goddess really impressed on me. I also enjoyed the Peacock God, who is Her son and lover. Since I focus my attention on the earth I knew it was best to adopt Gaia has a Matron Goddess.
The Sacred Feminine has been used in as a source of empowerment especially in the feminist spirituality movement. I see Her as a source of all. That’s my particular empowerment. Personally I think the Moon symbolism within Wicca is too narrow. I feel like there is more to Her than most let on. The Star Goddess and Earth Goddess help me find the Goddess in all without subscribing to an all powerful deity who is outside my perception. Instead She is all around me; immanent in the Earth and the Sky; the Universe.
