The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is directing the health care policy in the United States.
If the bishops finish there will be.........
1) no access to abortion, even the cases of Rape
2)no in-vitro fertilization
3)no contraception
4)no treatment for ectopic pregnancy
5)no embryonic stem-cell research
6)no respect for your advanced medical directives.

Some of the Bishops, like Bishop Thomas Tobin, have been working on restricting access to abortion in the Health Care reform bill. Here is Stupak saying just that.
The Catholic Church used their power-their clout, if you will-to influence this issue. -Representative Bart Stupak (D-Mich)
Some representatives have said that they have been urged by their Bishops to create more restrictions on abortion. And have been told not to speak at Mass if they continue to be pro-choice.
Not all Catholics think a like, or think alike their Bishops. Most Catholics are pro-choice. Eighty-four percent of Catholics approve of abortion if the woman is going to die from pregnancy, seventy-six percent approve if its rape or incest, seventy-three percent approve if it poses long term health risks, sixty-six percent approve if the baby has a severe abnormal condition, and fifty percent approve whenever the Doc and patient feel appropriate to do it.
The Bishops don't even represent all Catholics, how can they possibly represent the whole of America? I really don't think the Church should be involved in State matters, its ridiculous.
