A lot of Trad Witches or strict Pagans in general might have a problem with mixing and matching different schools of thought. Mixin' and matchin' is all a part of being eclectic. I used to be a Buddhist, so I have a Buddha statue on my altar. It's not really my own personal view of the God but more like an abundant and beautiful token representing Him.
I'm a Monist; you can disagree with me all you want but its not going to make a bit of difference. Seeing Divinity as all, one and many makes more sense to be than anything else.
I love the Goddess Diana, so I have a Diana statue, which was from Italy, on my altar. I am a feminist so I like to have that particular Goddess there to remember that by.
Wicca has become larger than life this day but I'm trying to find my own path through the Craft and not relying so much on Wicca for guidance. It's been hard. There isn't much out there has not been influenced by it, I am getting into Kitchen Witchery, Hedge Witchery and HearthCraft. I am not so sure on what to read about it, I'm certainly not going to rely on Mama Silver to tell me. Shamanism has been an interest of mine as well however noise can intervene in such practices.
Its a little hard to mix traditions and religions but I like it because it helps me come closer to Divinity. It helps me to become more Divine as a human being.
